The Dumbbell Nebula is a planetary nebula in the constellation Vulpecula. It is the remnants of a star that ran out of fuel and exploded, a supernova. This was one of the very first targets I ever tried to take photos of back in 2007. It is very bright and easily spotted through even a small telescope. A beautiful example of what can be found in our local neighborhood at about 1,360 light years away.
