These photos are of Cardiac Canyon, just outside of Page Arizona. Cardiac is carved out of the Navajo Sandstone, as is Antelope & X. Cardiac located in the same drainage as Antelope, but is a ways upstream. The canyon, like Antelope, is on the Navajo Nation. It's private land run by a Navajo family. Overland Canyon Tours is the only tour company permitted to enter into Cardiac. It's also my personal favorite. Along with great photos and a lot of slots, you get a wide variety of canyon. There are areas you have to "chimney" (Climb) up to get to other sections of the canyon. It's a bit more remote than all of the others, and really has a lot to offer. The tour starts out with a 3 mile hike through the desert to get to the access point of the canyon. All together you have to hike 6.5 miles to get through the canyon, then into canyon X, then back to the vehicles. It can be grueling and very hot. Only recommended for experienced hikers, suited to hiking outdoors in hot conditions. You could also visit in a cooler time of year to avoid the heat.
