The orbit below is based on observations published in the following MPECs:
2017-U183, U185, U234, U263, U265, V01, V13, V38, V62 and V63.
Weightings: RMS=0.15" for F51, RMS=0.2" for 675, H01 and J95, and RMS=0.5" for other stations.
 
Ground-based observations are likely to continue until late November, when the asteroid fades beyond
the limit of even the largest telescopes. A proposal (www.stsci.edu/hst/phase2-public/15405.pdf)
asks to use the Hubble Space Telescope for observations between 22 November 2017 and 1 January 2018.
Observations are also planned with the Spitzer Space Telescope in late November
(ssc.spitzer.caltech.edu/warmmission/scheduling/approvedprograms/ddt/13249.txt).
 
On November 6th, the MPC has announced a new naming scheme for interstellar objects. Accordingly,
A/2017 U1 has been designated 1I and named 'Oumuamua (www.minorplanetcenter.net/mpec/K17/K17V17.html).
